About Me

Hi! I’m Lyndsie Guy and I’m running for a position on the Corning-Painted Post Board of Education.

As a librarian, I value the freedom to read and am decidedly opposed to book banning. As the beneficiary of a great public education, I recognize the dedication that teachers and staff bring to work every day.

As a mother of two, I know that each child in our community deserves a champion.

Experience

I have worked in public libraries for over a decade. I started my career at a branch of the New York Public Library, and recently worked for the Southern Tier Library System where I worked with 48 community libraries across a five-county region. I have served as a Trustee for the Southeast Steuben County Library since 2023, and am currently President for the Board of Trustees.

I benefitted from a strong K-12 public education, and know that every child in our community deserves the same. I am a librarian by trade, and have spent the last thirteen years working in and with public libraries in New York state. Prior to that, I served two years in public middle schools as an AmeriCorps member. In all roles, I witnessed firsthand how public education acts as a cornerstone of democracy, and my goal is to continue that support.
